In Moriré siendo Boricua, Díaz Velázquez photographs Puerto Ricans that have moved to the United States and have started over. Some individuals had moved a few weeks prior to being photographed, while others had been in the US for a few years.

The series Moriré siendo Boricua was inspired by this quote: "I was born in Puerto Rico, I don't know where I will die. But, no matter where I die, I will die as a Puerto Rican."
